At a minimum, Mobile Entrée (ME) requires Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. ME will also run on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Standard and Enterprise. Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 are supported in both 32 and 64 bit.

 

For full mobile BI capabilities you will need to be running SharePoint 2010 Enterprise with Excel Services.

Mobile Entrée (ME) was built to support 3 main levels of customization:

 

The first level is through the use of the Configuration Workspace on the SharePoint site.  This workspace is installed when ME is activated and provides users a place to pick and choose what content should be available on their mobile device.

 

The second level is through Themes.  Themes are like master pages in that they are brandable, repeatable templates that you can apply to provide a consistent look and feel throughout your SharePoint sites.

 

The other option for customization is through the API.  The ME API allows you to create custom mobile appllications that integrate seamlessly into SharePoint.  ME provides you with the delivery and rendering mechanisms for the mobile platforms so you can create a single application to span across devices.

Yes!  With the release of Mobile Entree 3.0, you will be able to take SharePoint lists offline as well as create your own custom offline-capable mobile apps through the ME API.
