The following is a list of new features available in rev 1.2. This is not a complete list of changes, but some of the major enhancements available. These include: Customizable index views , Support for search scopes, Configuration Templates, Workflow task lists, Approve/reject items and documents, Check out/in documents, Support for managed content types, Support for surveys, Restructured configuration interface, Configurable parsing of phone numbers and email addresses.

Customizable index views
The index view of a list is the display of multiple items from a list view.  The 1.1 release version of Mobile Entrée always used the Title field for it’s index views.  Users can now configure how much information is displayed on this index view by selecting the number of fields up to a maximum of 3.  The list item fields used will be taken from the view in the order they appear in the view.  Text in the index view will be truncated if it goes beyond 60 characters.  In document libraries; if you select 1 field to display, the icon of the document will also display.  Customizable index views do not apply to Surveys, Discussion Boards or Links lists.

Support for search scopes
In Mobile Entrée Configuration, you can now select the search scopes to use for the mobile search.

Configuration Templates
In Mobile Entrée Configuration, you can now save a configuration as a template to be used on another site in the site collection.  This is meant to save you time configuring existing sites that all have the same lists and libraries.

Workflow task lists
Workflow tasks can now be executed from your mobile device.  The workflows that Mobile Entrée 1.2 support are: Collect Feedback, Approval, and Disposition.

Approve/reject items and documents
Document Libraries and Lists that have “Require Content Approval” turned on will now give users the option to Approve/Reject these items.

Check out/in documents
Document Libraries that require documents to be checked out before they can be edited, now support check out and check in from the mobile device.

Support for managed content types
Managed content types open up a whole new realm of possibility with SharePoint and Mobile Entrée.  The main upgrade here for Mobile Entrée is that we now support the ability to create an item based on content type.  When you use managed content types, the fields you get when creating a new item are defined in that content type so you get more control in how items are created from mobile devices.  Whereas if you are creating an item that does not have managed content types turned on, the user will be presented fields based on the fields in the selected view.

Support for surveys
SharePoint surveys are fully supported in Mobile Entrée 1.2.  The mobile application also honors paging and branching to give a very good mobile experience to these SharePoint lists.  A great benefit of mobile surveys is that you can provide users with a wizard-like form interface, all without any custom code.

Grant Access Requests
You can now grant access requests from your smartphone using the same link that gets sent to your email from SharePoint.

Email and Phone Number Parsing
Configurable regular expressions are used to match email addresses and phone numbers and then make them clickable on the mobile device.  This functionality only applies to the Base Plugin.
