Mobile Entree 2.1 introduces a new application that provides a great mobile experience for the SharePoint 2010 My Site social collaboration features. This application requires SharePoint 2010 and the User Profile Service Application properly configured. To enable this application for your My Sites, follow these instructions:
Note : Follow these instructions on the My (Profile) Site, not the My Content site in SharePoint. The My Content site can simply use the ME Base feature for access to its content.
- Activate the Mobile Entree Base feature from the Site Features
- Activate the Mobile Entree MySites feature from the Site Collection Features
- Once activated, navigate to the Mobile Entree Configuration page. From there click New Mobile Application Instance and select the My Site

- Once created your My Profile, My News Feed, My Colleages and My Note Board will be mobile-enabled for any user that browses to their My Site on their phone
Enabling Location
Another innovative capability of Mobile Entree 2.1 is the ability to capture a users location, and this is integrated with the Mobile Entree My Site. When a user updates their status message from their phone they also have the option to send their GPS location. To enable this feature there are a couple of extra steps.
- Location information is stored in 2 custom properties in the User Profile service. These properties will be created for you by clicking the button in the Mobile Entree My Site configuration page under the General Tab.

- You must also check the box labeled "Allow users to post their location details"
- Once these properties are created, users will be able to update thier status and include their location.
- We have also included a webpart that will display a map on the users Profile page with their location. You can add this webpart anywhere on the page as it uses javascript to add the map to its proper location.

- Once added, the map will display in line with all of the other user properties

The final product is an intuitive experience to navigate the SharePoint 2010 My Site!
