The most efficient way to test your Base Plugin configuration as well as any custom mobile applications you are building is to do so using Safari from your desktop.  Safari provides an almost identical experience to that on the iPhone (which is also Safari, go figure).  Of course, you will want to test on actual devices before deploying to production.

Follow these steps to get your test environment set up.

1. Download and install Apple Safari http://www.apple.com/safari/.

2. From the settings menu select "Preferences"

3. From the Advanced tab, check the box to show the Develop menu in the menu bar

4. Be sure that the menu bar is visible.  You can do so from the settings menu

5. From the Develop menu, change your User Agent to Mobile Safari - iPhone.

6. This will now make Safari act like it is on an iPhone and the Mobile Entree HTTP Module will think an iPhone is make the requests, thus sending you to the mobile displays rendered by ME (medefault.aspx).
